CONNECT GURUS TERMS OF SERVICE

Welcome to Connect Gurus. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, booking tools, memberships, products, and services provided by Connect Gurus (“Connect Gurus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By scheduling an appointment, purchasing a service or membership, using our website, or otherwise engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Our Services

Connect Gurus provides residential technology services, which may include, without limitation:

  • TV setup / mounting
  • Home theater setup and installation
  • Wi-Fi setup and troubleshooting
  • Smart home device setup and installation
  • Audio and streaming device setup
  • iPhone, tablet, computer, and printer support
  • Smart lock installation
  • Light bulb installation
  • Remote support by phone or video
  • Related in-home technology assistance

Service availability may vary by location, technician availability, safety conditions, and the equipment involved.

2. Estimates and Scope of Work

Any estimate, quote, or booking description is based on the information available at the time of scheduling. Actual work required may differ once we inspect the site, equipment, wall type, wiring, compatibility, signal conditions, or other conditions in the home.

Unless expressly stated in writing, quotes and appointments cover only the services specifically described. Additional work, materials, travel, hardware, or time may result in additional charges.

3. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when booking
  • Ensure safe and reasonable access to the service location
  • Be present, or have an authorized adult present, during the appointment unless otherwise agreed
  • Provide necessary passwords, access credentials, and instructions as needed
  • Confirm that you own or are authorized to approve work on the property and devices involved
  • Remove or secure fragile, valuable, or irreplaceable items near the work area

You are responsible for obtaining any landlord, HOA, building, or other third-party approvals required for installation work.

4. Appointments, Scheduling, and Delays

We will make reasonable efforts to arrive within the scheduled service window. Appointment times are estimates, not guarantees. Delays may occur due to traffic, weather, prior appointments, supply issues, or unforeseen site conditions.

We reserve the right to reschedule an appointment for safety reasons, incomplete information, inaccessible premises, severe weather, technician illness, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

You may cancel or reschedule by contacting us at least [24 hours] before your appointment.

If you cancel late, are unavailable, fail to provide access, or the service cannot proceed due to conditions within your control, we may charge a cancellation, trip, or missed appointment fee of [$100.00].

Custom-ordered materials, special-order parts, or prepaid items may be nonrefundable once purchased.

6. Pricing and Payment

Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing. We may require deposits for certain appointments, products, memberships, or special-order items.

You authorize us to charge the payment method provided for:

  • booked services
  • approved add-on work
  • applicable taxes
  • agreed travel or materials charges
  • membership fees
  • cancellation or no-show fees under these Terms

Unpaid balances may accrue interest at the maximum rate permitted by law, and you may be responsible for reasonable collection costs.

7. Hardware, Materials, and Third-Party Products

Unless expressly included in writing, service pricing does not include TVs, mounts, cables, routers, bulbs, locks, smart devices, replacement parts, wall patching, electrical work, carpentry, or other materials.

We may install customer-supplied or third-party products, but we do not guarantee:

  • compatibility
  • manufacturer support
  • app/service availability
  • signal strength
  • ongoing cloud service access
  • software updates
  • future interoperability between brands or platforms

Manufacturer warranties remain the responsibility of the manufacturer or seller, not Connect Gurus, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.

8. Wall Mounting, Installation Risk, and Property Conditions

TV setup / mounting, smart device installation, locks, and related services may involve drilling, anchoring, lifting, ladder use, or working with drywall, masonry, tile, wood, metal studs, or other surfaces.

You acknowledge that:

  • hidden conditions may exist inside walls or ceilings, including wiring, plumbing, blocking, insulation, firebreaks, or structural issues
  • surface materials may crack, chip, or require patching or paint touch-up
  • some installations may require additional labor, specialized hardware, or a different mounting approach after inspection

By approving installation work, you accept the ordinary risks associated with mounting and in-home installation work. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, concealed conditions, code deficiencies, unstable surfaces, or failures caused by improper third-party products, prior work, or structural conditions outside our control.

9. Data, Privacy, and Device Access

To provide support, we may need access to your devices, accounts, apps, Wi-Fi network, or settings. You are responsible for backing up all data before service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Connect Gurus is not responsible for loss of data, corruption of files, account lockouts, software issues, compatibility problems, or interruptions to services provided by third parties.

You authorize us to access devices and settings reasonably necessary to perform requested services. We will use reasonable care with customer information, but no device, network, or online platform can be guaranteed completely secure.

10. Remote Support

Remote support may be offered by phone, video, screen sharing, or remote access tools. By using remote support, you consent to the remote session and understand that:

  • service quality depends on your internet connection, device condition, and third-party platforms
  • not all issues can be resolved remotely
  • additional in-home service may still be required

You may end a remote session at any time, but fees for time already spent may still apply.

11. Memberships and Support Plans

If Connect Gurus offers memberships, annual plans, or service subscriptions, the specific benefits, hours, limitations, service areas, and response times will be described in the applicable plan details at the time of purchase.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • memberships are valid for 12 months from the purchase date
  • unused hours or visits do not roll over after the membership term ends
  • membership benefits are non-transferable unless approved by us in writing
  • same-day or priority service is subject to technician availability and geography
  • on-site service may be limited to listed service areas

Automatic Renewal

Connect Care Membership Plans automatically renew on an annual basis unless you cancel the auto-renew option on our website before your renewal date. By purchasing or enrolling in a Connect Care Membership Plan, you authorize Connect Gurus to charge your payment method for each annual renewal term unless auto-renew has been canceled prior to renewal through our website.

Cancellation of Auto-Renew

Canceling auto-renew will stop future renewal charges but will not cancel or refund the current membership term already in effect. Your membership will remain active through the end of the then-current paid term unless otherwise required by law or expressly agreed by Connect Gurus in writing.

Membership Changes and Termination

Connect Gurus reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue membership offerings, pricing, or benefits on a going-forward basis upon notice posted on our website or otherwise provided to members. Any such change will apply to future terms unless otherwise stated.

We may suspend or terminate membership benefits if we are unable to process payment, if there is suspected fraud or misuse of membership benefits, if a member violates these Terms, or if continued service would be unsafe, unlawful, or impractical.

Refunds

Except as otherwise required by law or expressly stated in writing, membership fees are non-refundable once a membership term begins.

12. Exclusions

Unless expressly included in writing, Connect Gurus does not provide:

  • licensed electrical, plumbing, or structural contracting services
  • in-wall electrical modifications
  • concealed wire installation where code or conditions prohibit it
  • roof work or hazardous-height work beyond ordinary residential access
  • repair of defective products under manufacturer warranty
  • cybersecurity guarantees
  • virus, fraud, identity theft, or data recovery guarantees
  • permanent repairs to walls, ceilings, paint, texture, flooring, or cabinetry

We may refuse service where conditions are unsafe, unsanitary, illegal, threatening, or beyond the reasonable scope of the booked service.

13. Limited Warranty on Labor

Unless otherwise stated in writing, Connect Gurus warrants its labor for [90] days from the date of service solely against defects in workmanship.

This limited labor warranty does not cover:

  • customer-supplied defective products
  • manufacturer defects
  • accidental damage
  • misuse, abuse, or neglect
  • power surges
  • software updates or third-party service changes
  • network/provider issues
  • normal wear and tear
  • changes made by anyone other than Connect Gurus after service

Your sole remedy under this limited labor warranty is re-performance of the affected labor, if we determine the issue is covered.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Connect Gurus will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, lost business, downtime, or emotional distress, arising from or related to our services, products, website, memberships, scheduling, delays, or third-party devices and platforms.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to a service will not exceed the amount you paid to Connect Gurus for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Connect Gurus and its owners, employees, contractors, and agents from claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising from:

  • your breach of these Terms
  • your misuse of products or services
  • inaccurate information you provide
  • unsafe or unlawful conditions at the service location
  • your lack of authority to approve the work requested

16. Photos and Documentation

We may take non-identifying photos of equipment, wall conditions, serial numbers, install locations, or completed work for quality control, documentation, insurance, training, or dispute resolution purposes.

We will not use identifiable photos of your home or person for marketing without your permission.

17. Intellectual Property and Website Use

All content on our website, including text, graphics, branding, logos, photos, and design elements, is owned by or licensed to Connect Gurus and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without permission.

You agree not to misuse our website, interfere with its operation, or use it for unlawful purposes.

18. Dispute Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you and Connect Gurus agree to first try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally. A party seeking to raise a dispute must send written notice describing the issue and the requested resolution. The parties will have thirty (30) days from receipt of that notice to attempt to resolve the matter informally.

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the services provided by Connect Gurus shall be governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

Any legal action arising out of or relating to these Terms or the services provided by Connect Gurus shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in or serving El Paso County, Colorado, except that either party may bring an eligible claim in small claims court.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, all disputes must be brought on an individual basis only, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, representative, or consolidated proceeding.

If permitted by applicable law, the prevailing party in any action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be entitled to recover its reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs.

19. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including weather, outages, supplier failures, internet disruptions, transportation issues, labor shortages, illness, emergencies, acts of God, or governmental actions.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be effective when posted on our website, unless a later date is stated.
